Cole had Wrestling Individual Conference finals on Friday. Ended up with Third in the conference for his weight. Not too shabby. Won 3 out of 4 and lost to a very experienced opponent 8-4. What was exciting was to see all the improvement and his increased awareness of what was happening, how to respond to a bad situation and use one to set up a counter. Just when I thought he was caught in a bad spot, he would turn it and you realized he had it planned out.
There's a nice gator roll for control at :12. You don't see to many gator rolls in high school.
He's being pulled up to varsity again Wednesday for District team finals so they can use his 4.0 grade point on the team average to submit for acedemic team awards. That'll work.
At this pace I could see him being a pretty solid wrestler by his senior year.

Had some good success at the Arnis which was very good to me and has allowed me to see some of the world too. Spent most of those years training like my hair was on fire (the original name of the blog). In the last year (2006) I sort of physically "broke" as a result and it has been a long interesting path putting myself back together.
